Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany&Co

The bracelet presented made of 18 carat gold is a perfect example of simplicity and elegance. The artist used an inverted hourglass pattern that has been known to watchmakers for over three thousand years. Softly flowing down the wrist is a classic decoration of a woman's hand.

Born in 1907, the French jewelry designer after World War II emigrated to New York where he opened a jewelry store with Nicolas Bongard. In 1956, Walter Hoving, the director of the Tiffany&Co jewelry company, offered Schlumberger an opportunity to cooperate. From that moment on, the designer began his adventure with the beloved American brand Tiffany&Co. He quickly built up an impressive customer base, including Princess Windsor, Princess Kent, Princess Greta Garbo, Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn, and was soon promoted to the position of Director. Schlumberger's designs were particularly popular with Jacqueline Kennedy, which caused the press to name some of the bracelet designs designed by the artist "Jackie bracelets". Schlumberger was the first jewelry designer to receive a prestigious Coty Award in 1958. The artist died in Paris at the age of 80, winning the National Order of Merit (Ordere national du Merite) from the French government three years prior.
