19th century pendant with garnets and diamonds
Price range: (> 50 000 zł)
A unique pendant with garnets and diamonds dating back to the first half of the 19th century. Particularly noteworthy are the extremely beautiful garnets. The dark red color of the stones perfectly corresponds to the lively fire of old cut diamonds and the delicate glow of flickering, diamond rosettes.
In the nineteenth century, the garnet became Europe's favorite stone. Rich ladies ordered jewels made of garnets embedded in a metal construction to strengthen the magical powers attributed to these stones. Luminaires were usually simple ones made in silver or gold. The exceptions were precioses designed for aristocracy. The structure, although invisible, was beautifully chiseled.
A rare historical specimen with an unusual combination of garnets, diamonds and diamond rosettes in a beautifully chiseled setting with plant motifs. A masterpiece emphasizing the artistry of 19th century goldsmiths.
