Painted glass goblet with enamel engravings –Kurfürstenhumpen

A "Kurfürstenhumpen" glass, from Germany or Bohemia, fin de siécle (after 1900), from an unknown manufacturer. Content and technique: clear glass, dyed green en masse (several air bubbles result from this method), painted with glass enamels. A cylindrical glass goblet with a flat bottom, and a domed cover with an attached multifaceted handle. On the outside of the piece, painted cut enamel decorations show men on horseback riding around on two levels. These characters are dressed in mink coats and wielding scepters in their hands. Two of the men are wearing crowns, the rest royal miters. Each of the characters has their title listed above: "König V. Böhmen / Rom. Kaiser / Coln / Sachsen / Pfalz / Brandenburg / Trier / Metz." At the top of the goblet is a border mader up of small white dots, made by machine cut into the glass.
