A rare green demantoid garnet presented here in a subtle, delightfully feminine pendant dating back to 1900. The end of the Victorian era was a time of experimentation with the shape and types of stones used in jewelry. Here the playful forms shimmer and the colored gemstones overflow with energy. The delicate golden frame emphasizes the beauty of the demantoid, which owes its name to the Dutch demantoid – diamond, which is supposed to indicate a significant similarity of cut garnets to the brilliance of diamonds.
