Beautiful mountain landscape saturated with many shades of subdued green among which people are moving toward a hillside settlement. The whole piece is kept in a colder key, which is enlivened by scattered spots of intense colors. The impasto paint structure and broken whiteness of the restless sky emphasize the expressivity of the landscape. The work is perfectly suited to complement a collection of landscape painting s on the margins of impressionism and expressionism. The painting has been preserved in good condition with its original frame. Signature placed in the lower left corner: DECORSI.

About the artist: (1882-1956) Painter, son of an Italian consul in Russia. Born in Odessa in 1882. Shortly after his birth, orphaned by his father, he moved with his mother and stepfather, a Spanish nobleman, to Madrid, where he began to show off his artistic skills as a child. However, it was only after his stepfather's death in 1896 that he went to Italy and acquired his first painting skills in Rome. The artist specialized in landscape painting and his numerous journeys, especially to Italy, resulted in many paintings, which he presented with considerable success at numerous exhibitions in Milan, Turin, Paris, Venice, Brussels, Barcelona and, of course, his beloved Naples. One can be tempted to say that his landscapes are witnesses of the artist's inseparable bond with Naples.
